The Saskatchewan Book Awards (SBA) looks forward to taking part in the 2021 Cathedral Village Arts Festival (CVAF). The CVAF has been a mainstay in Regina for many years and the SBA is pleased, once again, to be participating in the Queen City’s premier arts festival.

This year the SBA is pleased to present two excellent Regina authors: Gillian Harding-Russell and Gail Bowen.

gillian is a Regina poet, editor and reviewer. She has published in journals across Canada and her poems have been anthologized in seventeen collections. Her previous poetry collection, In Another Air (published by Radiant Press in 2018), was shortlisted for a City of Regina Saskatchewan Book Award. gillian will be reading from her latest collection of poetry, Uninterrupted, published by Ekstasis Editions. Uninterrupted was shortlisted for the 2021 SBA SK Arts Poetry Award Honouring Anne Szumigalski.

Gail is an author, playwright, and teacher. Among her writing awards are a lifetime achievement award from the Crime Writers of Canada and the Distinguished Canadian Award from the University of Regina. In 2018, she was awarded the Saskatchewan Order of Merit and the Grand Master Award of Crime Writers of Canada. Gail will be reading from her latest book in the Joanne Kilbourn Mystery Series, The Unlocking Season, published by ECW Press. The Unlocking Season was shortlisted for the 2021 SBA Fiction Award.
